Parents of HCS students can locate child’s bus through app

Hardin County Schools (KY) has launched an app called Stopfinder that will allow parents and guardians to accurately track their children’s school bus in real-time.

The easy-to-use app is secured, so only authorized users will have access to school bus information, according to a news release from the school district.

Stopfinder, created by the district’s routing software company, Transfinder, is free to parents and guardians and allows users to customize when they receive alerts about their child’s bus location.

“We are pleased to offer this service,” HCS Transportation Director Chris Corder said in the release. “Parents can see their child’s bus location in real time. This tool helps our student transportation team become even more efficient and responsive because Stopfinder will answer the question, ‘Where is my child’s school bus?’”

HCS elementary school parents have been using the app since the beginning of the school year.

It is now available for middle school and high school parents.

Parents can download Stopfinder for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Stopfinder will require an invite and registration through the district before a parent can access a student’s transportation schedule. The HCS Transportation Department sent emails to parents Thursday morning.
